1) What are cookies?

Cookies are small data files that are installed on your computer, telephone or any other device, with information about your navigation when you visit a website or, in this case, our Platform. Cookies allow the storage and retention of information related to the browsing habits of Users or their devices, personalise their content and, depending on the information contained in them and the use they are making of the devices, can be used to recognise the User of a website.

2) What types of cookies are there?

Cookies can be classified in various types, depending on different criteria:

Depending on the entity that manages them:
  • First-Party Cookies: are cookies generated by the website that is being visited.
  • Third Party Cookies: are cookies that are installed when browsing a website, but have been generated by a third service that is hosted on it.
Depending on the period of time they remain activated in the device:
  • Session cookies: are those designed to collect and store information only during the User’s visit to the website and disappear at the end of the session.
  • Persistent cookies: are those that store the User’s information for a longer period of time, so that it can be accessed and processed by the person responsible for the cookie during that period. This period varies with each cookie, and can range from a few minutes to several years.
Depending on their purpose:
  • Preference or personalisation cookies: are those that allow information to be remembered, so that the User can access the website, with characteristics that can differentiate his or her experience from those of other Users, such as, for example, the aspect or content of the website, which could vary depending on the type of browser used by the User.
  • Analysis or measurement cookies: are cookies that allow quantification of the number of Users and the time of connection of said users, with the purpose of carrying out the measurement and statistical analysis of the use that they make of the offered services.
  • Advertising cookies: are those that allow the most efficient management possible of the advertising spaces that, where appropriate, have been included on the website.
  • Behavioural advertising cookies: are those that allow the effective management of the advertising spaces that may have been included in the website, through the storage of information on the User’s behaviour, obtained thanks to the continuous observation of his/her browsing habits, which allows the development of a specific profile to display advertising based on it.
